This is the new blog from AMURT-Haiti to be updated with news from the field: www.amurtayiti.wordpress.com
Both AMURT's and AMURTEL's efforts to respond to the hurricane disaster and the progressive development programs will be highlighted through the experiences of our volunteers present here, right now. Very soon we start uploading videos showing the situation in Haiti from inside. Both in urban and rural devastated zones, inspiring voices and touching stories from the local population will bring closer to the world the extreme situations and the reality full of life in this country. We will also balance the updates between news from the disaster relief and the exponentially succesful grassroots approach to sustainable development

“Somos La Tierra”: Ananda Marga Community Center, Havana, Cuba “Do all the good you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji Cuban society is undergoing an important political transition. Some of the consequences of this transition are economic inequality, ideological crisis, and emerging materialistic way of living. The economic instability and lack of knowledge about the dynamics of capitalism, puts the Cuban people at risk of being exploited.

HISTORY AMURT/EL became active in Venezuela in December 1999 after heavy rains caused landslides and floods. With the help of AMURT Switzerland, it started to work with the flood victims of Barlovento, a region in the state of Miranda about 2 hours east of Caracas, distributing drinking water, food and medicines. Observing the chronic poverty of the people in this area, AMURT/EL decided to open with a long-term project. It acquired three and a half (3 ½) hectares of land and built a community center from which to serve the impoverished rural villagers in the surrounding area.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters, Family and Friends, As many of you know, we (Colin Baker and Daniel Isner) just returned from a six-month visit to Ghana, West Africa. Though we lived in separate regions of the country - Daniel, teaching in a primary school in Ejura, a farming town in the Ashanti Region, and Colin, studying at the University of Ghana in the capital Accra - we had similar experiences. Ghana inspired us immensely, through its beauty and rich culture. Pan-Africanism and the African independence movement have much of their roots in Ghana.

The Quest Center is a project that offers a space for growth and quests to inner fulfillment, harmony and love. We offer programs as well as we rent the facility for other groups. In our quest for inner peace and fullfillement we cultivatevarious disciplines that help to develop our innermost potentials and human values such as Tai-Chi, Kung-Fu, Yoga and Meditation. By serving individuals and groups to "quest" for these inner goals through these practices, collective games, workshops and outdoor activities, we learn and grow together.
